Academic Assistant for online courses
Job Description
LSUA is looking for dynamic professionals committed to enhancing the learning environment of our students and interested in long-term placements within our online classes. Most of our academic assistants have worked with our university for over 4 years and some have even become full-time professors on our campus. Our goal is to create a family community within our campus for students and employees.
Academic Assistants (AA) work with professors in online courses to provide quality learning experiences. The position is 100% remote and asynchronous. Duties may include responding to student inquiries, grading discussions or scoring papers/projects as the professor needs for the course. Candidates must be US Citizens and have a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline of the course.
The AA position requires a desire to foster a positive learning environment along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work is fully remote and involves asynchronous course participation.
Pay is per student per 7-week session so varies based on enrollment. There are six start dates (sessions) per year. AAs can be assigned to more than one course per session. AAs can opt out out of any assignment prior to assignment date (approximately 2 weeks before each session start date).
