    Job Description

    Lovelace Payne LLC is looking for a Tax Manager to add to our growing firm. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing Lovelace Payne LLC’s tax return process at both the federal and state levels. Goals for this position include ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax returns while cultivating a professional relationship with clients.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ensure Lovelace Payne LLC’s clients are in compliance with changing IRS standards
    • Working directly with clients to build and maintain client relationships, prepare business, non-business, and individual tax returns, and assist with tax return reviews
    • Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers, the clients served by this company, and others with whom her/his job puts her/him in contact
    • Oversee multiple tax engagements to maximize profitability and efficiency
    • Assist with tax return preparation, processing, and other accounting/consulting projects
    • Mentor, educate and train Senior and Staff level groups
    • Gather client information for new entities
    • Complete work promptly, and monitor status of tax return reviews to ensure deadlines are met
    • Distribute K-1s to investors
    • File annual informational returns and ensure any applicable fees are paid
    • Familiarize with and adhere to relevant ethical requirements of the AICPA, contained in the Code of Professional Conduct, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and the Texas Society of CPA’s in discharging their professional responsibilities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of Federal and State Tax Regulations
    • Approximately 3 years of relevant income tax experience
    • Ability to oversee multiple engagements and deadlines
    • Exemplary analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of GAAP principles, accounting transactions, schedules, and financial reports
    • Partnership Taxation experience required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • CCH Axcess software experience is a plus

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • An active CPA License preferred
