    We are seeking an Engineering Technician with entrepreneurial ambitions and strong shop experience record to back them up. We make premium products for child development and play, and we need a rock star to help our engineering team create prototypes and support validation testing. The job responsibilities include rapid prototyping using 3D printers, a CO2 laser cutter, a CNC router, and a full woodworking shop to make prototypes of designs handed down from the engineering and design departments.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Create and collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to develop children's toys and products that promote early stage development
    • Creative physical representations of CAD and Engineering drawings in the form of prototypes using 3D printers, Laser cutters, CNC router, or traditional shop tools
    • Maintain shop conditions and procurement of fasteners, tools, bits, and raw materials
    • Create Standard Operating Procedures for proper and effective use of equipment
    • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of machines
    • Design and perform product characterization tests for new and existing products
    • Accurately set up and perform experiments to provide meaningful, repeatable data
    • Apply problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing issues
    • Provide technical support for a cross-functional startup team

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • 200+ hours CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
    • 2-5 years of experience with model making, woodworking, and/or 3D printing
    • Experience with CNC operations including making/editing G Code
    • Natural skill with, experience in, and love of model making and prototyping
    • Experience designing repeatable, accurate experiments with quantifiable outcomes
    • Exceptional technical writing skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven leadership and teamwork skills
    • Thorough understanding of GD&T
    • Familiarity with mechatronics (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
    • Extreme attention to detail

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Work experience or extracurricular activities related to Engineering discipline
    • Experience with children & child development
    • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods for wood, textiles, and metal
    • Basic knowledge of Adobe suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
    • DFMEA & Root Cause Analysis
    • Photo-realistic rendering tool capabilities (Keyshot or similar)
