Low Voltage Technician I 525 Technologies
525 Technologies is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician I to support the installation, testing, and servicing of low voltage systems in commercial environments. This entry-level to early-career role is ideal for a technician who is developing hands-on skills, demonstrates strong work ethic, and is committed to quality, safety, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Install, route, and secure low voltage cabling including twisted pair, coaxial, and related infrastructure.
Install cable pathway systems such as J-hooks, D-rings, cable trays, and ladder racks.
Terminate, test, label, and document horizontal and backbone cabling in accordance with company standards.
Assist with build-out of telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, and work areas.
Install and support low voltage devices including access control, cameras, audio/visual components, and related hardware.
Perform basic troubleshooting and report issues to lead technicians or supervisors.
Accurately complete required field documentation, time tracking, and material usage reports.
Follow job specifications, drawings, and verbal instructions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times.
Demonstrate professional conduct when interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Adhere to all 525 Technologies Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of low voltage cabling systems and installation practices.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
Ability to manage assigned tasks and complete work orders accurately.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Ability to work independently with supervision as experience grows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial low voltage or structured cabling environments.
Basic understanding of network infrastructure.
Experience with access control, CCTV, or security systems.
Ability to conduct a walkthrough for projects in an existing building or new facility
Work Environment & Expectations
Work is performed at customer job sites, including new construction and existing facilities.
Position may require standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in ceilings or confined spaces.
Regular attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential to this role.
