JOB SUMMARY: The Criminal Research Analyst efficiently conducts individual background research utilizing client-provided key identifiers. The Criminal Research Analyst uses Critical Thinking and Analytical skills to evaluate retrieved information for ensuring return of comprehensive and accurate data. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Conducts online research using specific criminal information websites. Utilizes critical thinking and analytical skills to determine if a clear record or criminal information is to be returned to the Client. * Enters findings and results into internal system as either clear (no information found) or criminal record information discovered specific to WSS standard guidelines, Client guidelines and applicable laws . * Meets quality and productivity standards as established by business operating procedures and supervisory expectations. * May perform additional administrative research duties as assigned. Requirements: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Education: Minimum: * High School Diploma or GED Preferred: * Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or related field Experience: Minimum: * Prior work that required regular computer use. Preferred: * Prior office/administrative/clerical experience that employed detail-oriented focus. * One year criminal investigation experience. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including the ability to demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 35wpm. * Ability to demonstrate proficient navigation of the Internet. * Adept learner of internal operating systems. * Strong critical thinking and analytical skills * Detail/process-oriented; ability to problem solve. * Solid written and verbal communication skills. * Demonstrates professionalism and sound judgment. * Produces and maintains excellence in quality of work. * Reliable timely arrival/departure times,. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Trustworthy - ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally. * Team player/collaborative positive attitude with the ability to receive constructive feedback; supportive of co-workers, business leaders and work objectives. Ability to work flexible work hours or shifts (days/evenings/weekends), as needed. WORK HOURS: Shifts are 5:30 AM 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM 11:00 PM, includes two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid meal period. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Repetitive motion. Substantial movements/motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. * Sedentary work. Must be able to sit for an extended period covering the duration of work shift hours. * Visual acuity. The research analyst is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities including viewing a computer monitor and extensive reading and analyzing of data. * Environment. The research analyst works in a quiet, open office environment. Each research analyst is assigned a work station cubicle and shares/transitions their desk with analyst on adjoining shift.
