  • Responsibilities

    This ideal candidate will oversee all day-to-day operations and monitor the quality of our radio program as well as sit in as substitute host when the main host is unavailable. This position would be responsible for troubleshooting any issues during the broadcast, assisting the on-air host as needed, posting the post-show to our podcast, YouTube, and website channels, developing a content strategy to increase listenership and audience, working to develop advertising opportunities, and increasing revenues to this channel of our business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Research and write copy for current and relevant news stories that match the narrative of your show or assignment.

    Present evidence of prep work, including sources, certificates and any other documentation that will provide journalistic credibility.

    Adjust the timing of on-air reports to complete each segment without cutting into paid commercial breaks or other scheduled programs.

    Attend important meetings, pressers, and functions, and always behave in a professional manner as a representative of the station.

    Cut any audio clips as needed for ad spots or prerecorded material as needed.

    Provide reports and recommendations for KPIs.

    Develop a content strategy for our website and social media.

    Sell advertising spots during our time slot.

    Be responsible for the operation of all equipment at the station, as well as instruments used for remote recordings and broadcasts.

    Be available for a set weekly time slot.

    Other duties as assigned.

    DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    Exceptional communication skills.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

    Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Must be self-driven, detail and results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality.

    Able to get along with others and be a team-player.

    Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions.

    Experience operating recording and on-air equipment, editing skills and basic level of knowledge with Microsoft Office suite, and email.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or related field preferred.

    Minimum of 2 years’ announcing experience required.

    No special certificates required.

    OTHER INFORMATION

    Valid Drivers’ License, proof of insurance and reliable transportation are required for travel for off-site meetings and events.

    Ability to lift at least 75lbs.
