    SUMMARY

    ENROLLMENT SPECIALIST

    The Patient Enrollment Specialist works within the Narus Health (a Lucent Health Company) Patient Support Center (PSC) in Nashville, Tennessee. The Enrollment Specialist, as part of a multidisciplinary care team, is responsible for determining patient eligibility for care, coordinating, calling and tracking all new patient enrollments.  This team member is responsible for proactively reaching out to prospective patients to explain the services that Narus Health provides, address any inquiries, documenting patient needs and scheduling initial calls with the Care Manager.   The Enrollment Specialist is a seasoned professional who provides an excellent first impression to Narus Health’s services.  The role works telephonically with prospective patients alongside our care management team.

     

    MINIMUM EDUCATION LICENSURE AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting
    • CPA required

     

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • A high school diploma (required) or Associate/ Bachelor’s degree in business or health sciences.
    • Prior telephonic patient engagement or care coordination experience preferred.
    • An excellent communicator with the ability to explain the program offered in an informational, influential, concise and personable manner.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED    

    • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of comparable work experience in a healthcare setting. 
    • A high school diploma required or associate/bachelor’s degree in business or health sciences.
    • Prior telephonic patient engagement or care coordination experience preferred.
    • Proficient on Microsoft Office programs and EMR/Care Management platforms, comfortable working in different software platforms.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to confidentiality, including HIPAA and state specific privacy laws.

    • Articulate and compassionate with exceptional phone etiquette

    •  Working knowledge of medical terminology is ideal

    •  Proficient on Microsoft Office programs and EMR/Care Management platforms, comfortable working in different software platforms

    • financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supports the community and call center-based care team by ensuring effective enrollment of patients into the Narus program.   
    • Identify qualified patients through the review of records.
    • Perform outbound calls to prospective patients to explain services, answer questions and obtain patient consent to enroll.
    • Manage patient calls and confidential patient information.
    • May perform escalation of routine and urgent patient calls.
    • Receive and coordinate patient referrals.
    • Coordinating patient appointments and preparing patient records. 
    • Entering patient data into the Narus Health software platform.

     

         • Working with patients to validate insurance coverage, understand, explain and document insurance requirements 

         • Other duties as requested.
