  • Responsibilities

    As a diesel master mechanic at Lucianos Excavation, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper functioning of our fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. This will include performing regular maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and hydraulic systems, diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, and replacing faulty parts as needed. You will also be responsible for keeping accurate records of all work performed on equipment and adhering to all safety protocols while working on them. To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as certification from a recognized automotive or diesel mechanic program. You must also have at least three years of experience working as a mechanic on heavy equipment, with a strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems. In addition, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities: • Keep organized vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service history records. • Complete preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including oil changes, air conditioning service, filling fluids, and replacing brake pads, spark plugs, and batteries • Pursue continued education opportunities to grow technical skills • Conduct test drives, inspections, and diagnostic tests to determine automotive malfunctions • Generating repair estimates, timelines, and process documents for automotive work • perform routine maintenance on the fleet of equipment and trucks • diagnose and repair issues as they arise • keeping records of daily task and equipment worked on • welding and fabricating as needed Qualifications: • Preferred education is an associate’s degree from a technical school or relevant automotive program and/or ASE certification • Good manual dexterity and effective use of hand tools and other equipment needed for vehicle repairs • A valid driver’s license is necessary • High school diploma or GED equivalent required • Excellent work ethic, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills are desired Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000
