    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

    In performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees of Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina are expected to conform to the following:

    Interact in an honest, trustworthy, and respectful manner with employees, Tribal members, visitors, and vendors.

    Participate in departmental staff meetings, quality management activities and educational programs.

    Comply with Lumbee Tribe’s policies and procedures.

    Maintain a current insurable driver’s license.

    POSITION PURPOSEThe Lumbee Tribe of NC’s vaccination coordinator will provide vaccination services to tribal members by providing transportation to vaccination sites, coordinating with health clinics to provide on-site vaccinations, providing educational services about public health information, and assisting with on-line registration for vaccination appointments. LTNC will also provide fresh produce and other incentives to encourage tribal members to vaccinate.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide and promote health education

    Providing information on community health resources

    Determining program eligibility

    Assistance with enrollment in health/vaccine programs

    Making referrals

    Making appointments and providing reminders for tribal members

    Coordinating transportation

    Remain familiar with health trends, CDC guidance and governmental regulations

    Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience:

    7–10 years of prior work experience in healthcare, healthcare management

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in a health-related field

    Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications:

    Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as with a team

    A valid NC driver’s license is required.

    Must provide productive competence in the majority of the above listed skills

    Self-starter, adaptable, and good communicative skills

    Flexible and cooperative to accommodate job demands

    Approach problems proactively with solution focus

    Must be prompt and dependable.

    Able to communicate effectively and solve problems

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Work environment:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative to those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. Limited overnight travel may be required from time to time.

    Physical demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with clients, vendors, and staff.

    Mental demands:

    There are a number of deadlines associated with this position. The employee must be able to handle frequent interruptions and must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.

    The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina has implemented an Indian Preference in Employment Policy. Pursuant to this Policy, applicants who possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by this position, and who are members of the Lumbee Tribe will be given primary preference for hiring and employment after providing proof of tribal membership. Indian preference is integrated into the interview and scoring process for candidates for job positions.
