Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Load Puller to join our team in the lumber yard. This role is essential for ensuring efficient order fulfillment, proper material handling, and accurate preparation of customer and delivery loads. The Load Puller will be responsible for pulling lumber and building materials for orders, operating forklifts, and assisting with yard organization to maintain workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Fulfillment: Accurately pull and stage lumber, plywood, hardware, and building materials for customer pickups and deliveries.

Forklift Operation: Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport heavy loads around the yard.

Lumber Handling: Ensure proper stacking, bundling, and securing of materials to prevent damage or shifting during transport.

Quality Control: Inspect lumber and materials for defects, verifying accuracy before loading for fulfillment.

Safety & Compliance: Follow all workplace safety regulations, proper lifting techniques, and equipment handling protocols.

Yard Organization: Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient lumber yard by restocking materials and monitoring inventory levels.

Customer Assistance: Help customers by locating requested materials, advising on product selection, and assisting with loading.

Collaboration: Work closely with dispatch, drivers, and yard foremen to facilitate smooth operations and timely deliveries.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: Prior experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or forklift operation preferred but not required.

Forklift Certification: Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus or willingness to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in outdoor environments.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of lumber, plywood, and building materials.

Attention to Detail: Strong ability to ensure accurate order fulfillment and maintain inventory organization.

Safety Awareness: Understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper handling techniques.
