ABOUT THE ROLE
This role requires extensive experience in corporate and operations finance along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Leveraging an in-depth FP&A background combined with a data-driven and quantitative mindset, the right candidate will establish the people, processes, and systems necessary to measure operational performance, drive business insights and achieve continuous improvement. This individual will help establish the operating cadence required of a publicly traded company and be a key contributor to IPO readiness work.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Head of Finance and Strategy will lead our FP&A function and be responsible for all strategic and financial planning, business modeling, long-range forecasting, budgeting, AOP process and management reporting. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader who conveys the energy and credibility to accomplish our goals and has the capability to lead, build, and mentor distributed teams in a rapidly growing enterprise.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead Finance team's involvement in generating vision, establishing direction, and motivating members through trust, leverage, and diversified views.
- Create robust financial models to facilitate company-wide financial and strategic planning (forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning) including cash flow management and capital allocation.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes including variance analysis, management reporting, forecasting, scenario planning, AOP and business reviews.
- Partner closely with the accounting team to support month-end close, flux review processes, and financial reporting.
- Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team that is recognized for its accuracy, timeliness, and business insights.
- Optimize the scope and measurement of KPIs to track business performance, growth initiatives, unit economics, customer acquisition cost, and various efficiency ratios.
- Establish a comprehensive reporting function to serve both internal and external constituencies including plan to achieve public company requirements.
- Serve as a cross-functional liaison and trusted business partner to Lumio’s Data Analytics, Sales & Marketing, Product, Engineering and Customer Engagement teams.
- Collaborate with executive leadership team to evaluate strategies and enhance analytical rigor related to unit economics, headcount planning, product roadmap, geographic expansion, distribution channels, and M&A.
- Translate strategies into actionable and quantitative financial plans.
- Prepare and deliver financial business reviews to the leadership team and external stakeholders (Board, Investors, etc.).
- Communicate and implement company strategy internally and externally to meet overall company goals and initiatives.
- Partner with Finance organization to evangelize and implement “best in class” processes and systems to increase accuracy, efficiency, and timeless across entire company.
- Serve as key contributor to debt and equity fundraising efforts through preparation of diligence material and engagement with private and public market investors.
- Establish public company operating cadence and execute on IPO readiness activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of progressive work experience including a minimum of 10 years working in an FP&A capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) with exposure to Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance. CPA, CFA, CMA or MBA is a considered a bonus.
- Proven success serving as a change agent in high-growth companies operating at scale.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, connected planning, unit economics and U.S. GAAP.
- Familiarity and fluency with MS-Excel, NetSuite, and other common financial software platforms.
- Possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable operating in environment that requires multi-tasking, anticipation, attention to detail, prioritization and meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate range of competencies spanning higher-level subject matter yet prepared to roll up sleeves and dig into the weeds whenever necessary.
- Confidence leading high-impact projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
- Willingness to trust one’s instincts, take calculated risks and operate outside of comfort zone.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external partners.
- Familiarity with requirements of being a publicly traded company (operating cadence, reporting, Board, Auditors, Audit committee, etc.).
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to quickly respond to problems independently, consider all stakeholder needs, and thrive in ambiguity.
