The founder of Lunya, Ashley Merrill, has started a brand new media company called The Deep. Launched in November 2019, The Deep is looking for a rockstar graphic/digital designer to help create visually compelling emails, social media content, merchandise and more for our smart, curious readers.
As The Deep's Graphic/Digital Designer, you'll help create a gorgeous, provocative and intriguing brand for our audience of curious thinkers. Your designs will keep our customers engaged, and will reflect the thought-provoking nature of our content. This is an incredible opportunity to help shape the identity of an up-and-coming brand, and to shine in a key role at a thriving, fast-paced startup.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Design and program email newsletters, autoresponders, campaigns and more according to brand guidelines
- Design engaging social media posts and stories according to brand guidelines'
- Layout design from web to social to print (email, paid ads, newspapers, print ads, promotional items)
- Design merchandise as needed (clothing, bags, print materials, etc.)
- Collaborate on brainstorming, concepting, executing and refining projects
- Generate and iterate design solutions
- Protect and enhance brand identity
- Translate business objectives into creative solutions
- Assist with production including creation of press-ready files and quality control
- Assist with day-to-day creative needs, big or small

YOUR SKILLSETS AND BACKGROUND:
- B.A. (completed or in progress), or equivalent training in graphic design
- Experience working with Klaviyo or a similar email marketing platform
- Experience designing emails, social media, and items for print
- Ability to create and innovate on any type or size of project
- Ability to seek out more efficient or better ways to approach process
