Engineer Tasks:
- Assisting the other Senior Engineers with leadership duties of the Electrical Department
- Representing the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors and other project consultants
- Managing the technical and financial aspects of both large and small projects
- Preparing proposals and administering project contracts with the client
- Performing electrical calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation construction administration
- Establishing electrical design standards and preparing specifications and design criteria for projects
- Mentoring our junior electrical engineers and acting as a technical resource
- Preparing due diligence reports and feasibility studies addressing building electrical systems
- Preparing technical presentations and participating in business development activities
- Participating in Quality Control sessions critiquing work completed by the electrical staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer for a consulting firm in the design of power distribution, lighting, lighting controls and fire alarm systems in the commercial tenant and office building industry
- Thorough familiarity and understanding of electrical service, distribution fit-out for high-rise commercial office buildings in the NYC market
- Experience in collaborating with clients and their representatives related to pre-lease services
- Working knowledge of life-safety and standby power systems including UPS and Generators
- Understanding of LEED and NYCECC compliant lighting controls
- Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code, NYC Electrical Code NYC Energy Conservation Code
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset

- Thorough Understanding of Lighting Control Systems
- LEED Accreditation.
