    Description:

    Full-service engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm and technology design services is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to assist and provide the Lead Designer valuable support design support to the project team.

    The Senior Electrical Designer is instrumental in all phases of each project. This individual is critical for the creating high-quality trade-specific schematics and layouts based on solid design principals and performing essential project functions such as surveys, calculations, selections and layouts. A Senior Designer is responsible for leading the team by effectively communicating with peers, supervisors, vendors, consultants, clients and stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to, providing pivotal support in the construction administration process, having the ability to process and review shop drawings, perform field observations, and prepare respective reports. The Senior Electrical Engineer should strive to master the processes involved in each project, and therefore be fully capable of performing any role in each process and the ability to teach and train others.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Engineering degree from an accredited 4-year institution.
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working as a Junior Designer, having at least 2 years’ experience working in a designer role on a professional engineering team in Designer Role under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines, under high-pressured circumstances.
    • Must be highly organized and have ability to remain composed under pressure.
    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Advanced knowledge and working experience of Revit and AutoCAD.
    • Advanced knowledge and working experienced of Microsoft Office.
    • Professional Engineering licensed preferred, but not required.

    Electrical Engineering Proficiency:

    • Able to perform, under minimal guidance, essential electrical engineering functions (i.e. layouts of power & lighting systems, load calculations, voltage drop calculations, etc.).
    • Able to select, under minimal guidance, basic electrical distribution equipment (i.e. panels, fuses, circuit breakers, disconnects, etc.).
    • Able to perform, with close supervision, the development of technical electrical room system designs/layouts, select advanced equipment, revise shop drawings based on project specifications, perform energy ComCheck lighting calculations and enter utility service requests based on project load calculations.
    • Comprehensive understanding of spatial, weight, electrical and other characteristics of systems designs in order to coordinate with space conditions and other trades.

    Revit and AutoCAD Proficiency:

    • Able to develop professional drawing templates.
    • Create multi-scale views on one page.
    • Know how to use trans-spatial text and dimensions.
    • Utilize object and layer filtering.
    • Globally edit entities.
    • Analyze and apply methods to accurately create complex geometry.
    • Streamline repetitive tasks.
    • Create custom linetypes and use special fonts
