    Our Biotech client in northern NJ is seeking a Senior Director IT will provide all strategic and operations aspects of company's Information Technology function. The incumbent with be accountable for all IT related services, products, processes, procedures, technologies, security, within the company across three sites. Ensuring that all of our internal & external customers are capable of performing their responsibilities regardless of where in the world they reside. 

    • Effective alignment of IT investment to support the business short-term and long-term plans.
    • Lead the IT budgeting and planning process, ensuring sound business cases and analyzing key business initiatives and informational needs that support, improve and/or transform business operations, processes and strategy.
    • Provide initiate, leadership and support projects and their delivery in accordance with project goals, time scales and costs in compliance with company methodologies.
    • Provide global facilitation for global IT systems and Applications. This includes strategy, global URS, implementation and governance.
    • Drive IT Strategy for the areas of responsibility and contribute to the business strategy for areas and influence/persuade for its acceptance.
    • Ensure local IT strategy is aligned with global IT strategy and local business strategy.
    • Develop an environment which fosters a high-performance and innovative organization
    • Ensure continuity in IT leadership and succession planning and be available for coaching of staff in both functional and core competencies.
    • Ensure specific focus on talent management, ensuring continuous development and mentoring of all talents and giving them additional exposure within the organization (with special focus on high potentials).
    • Ensure continuous training needs identified for succession and career development of staff
    • Serve as a mentor and role model. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and behavior in dealings with staff, colleagues, customers and outside contacts.
    • Collaborate with other IT and business managers to leverage opportunities of job enrichment and development opportunities for staff.
    • Achieve the most efficient operations
    • Develop and deliver support in accordance with Service Level Agreements based on business requirements. Work closely with business partners in understanding and responding to both long-term and short-term business goals and strategy.
    • Challenge business partners to ensure the IT solution responds to their business needs while being cost-efficient at the same time.
    • Collaborate and negotiate with external partners to support system operations / development / integration, ensuring reliability, competence, flexibility and cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure the continuous improvement, rationalization and management of existing systems and operations.
    • Ensure proper implementation of global standards, policies and systems platforms.
    • Directly supervised the following roles: Manager, IT Infrastructure and ITSM, Sr. Computer System Validation Specialist. Indirectly supervise 4 employees within the IT department(s). Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees.

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in a senior-level information technologies role.
    • Pharma or biotech experience required.
    • Direct IT management leadership experience including: Business Information Systems/Technology, IT strategy, network infrastructure/architecture, Data Security and ERP systems.
    • Proven experience leading and overseeing IT departments across different geographical locations.
    • Proven knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including server, desktop, storage, data center, networking.
    • Excellent management, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with active-listening skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
    • Demonstrated relationship savvy in building effective trusted advisor relationships with business partners and IT alike using effective relationship-building, negotiation, mediation and influencing skills.
    • Proven adaptability to shifting project schedules, priorities and assignments; Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
    • Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, including coordinating and driving issues to resolution autonomously utilizing excellent judgment skills.
    • Recognized as subject matter expert in areas of enterprise and business applications.
    • Experience working in a regulated networking environment (SOX, GxP) and working in a Commercial Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology company.
    • Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA guidance documents on principles of software validation
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced IT environment.
    • Good understanding of SDLC and project methodology such as waterfall and agile (preferred).
    • Ability to lead and manage a team of IT professionals under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty.
