    Our biotechnology client seeks a Director Operations Strategy and Execution who will be primarily responsible to ensure that corporate operational strategic initiatives are aligned to enable the execution of our corporate strategy initiatives, drive speed and agility in decision making, remove barriers to progress and accelerate stronger integration across business units and functions.

    As a critical member of the operations leadership team, the incumbent will be responsible for providing strategic insights to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), and ensuring consistent, high-quality operational execution within across the numerous corporate work streams (e.g., portfolio prioritization, objective setting, long term planning, capacity modeling etc.). The Director will work closely with the Heads of the Sites, Human Resources, Business Development, Finance, and is accountable to establish, facilitate, and develop strategies to ensure alignment with business and corporate strategies.

    The incumbent is responsible to understand emerging trends and innovations in manufacturing operations, the best practices for achieving cost optimization in manufacturing and to best align and integrate manufacturing capability with the cross-functional supply chain.

    • Support the COO in the development of a regional long-term manufacturing and capacity strategy through interface with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide strategic Project Portfolio Management and Governance, including the management, tracking, and reporting on the region’s portfolio of internal projects as well as the development and maintenance of project related tools, templates, and business processes.
    • Drive and supply direct Project Management support to a specific portfolio of strategic transformational initiatives. Support all phases of these projects, from business case development through execution and successful completion.
    • Define strategic priorities and ensure that capabilities are in place or are being developed to deliver on strategic choices.
    • Influence decisions that affect strategic positioning of businesses and functions through development of thorough and impactful data-driven communications.
    • Support the annual refresh of operations priorities and objectives to ensure the objectives appropriately reflect the regional cross functional strategies.
    • Drive the tracking of progress against annual objectives for the operations team to ensure that the team remains on track to meet objectives.
    • Develop metrics to regularly provide insights and learnings to regional leadership to inform and enable value-added decision-making.
    • Lead and/or support regional management meetings and prepare materials for use at such meetings.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. An advanced degree (PhD, MBA, JD, etc.) is a plus
    • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience or equivalent combination of management experience is preferred
    • Minimum of 10 -15 years relevant experience as a project/program/portfolio manager leading multi-disciplinary, global project teams
    • Prior Manufacturing Management experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to effectively work autonomously, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as well as effectively manage scope, time, and cost of assigned projects
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of working effectively within matrix environments in the drug development/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or relevant certification is preferred
    • Build collaborative relationships based on trust and respect.

    • Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making through proactive issue identification and contingency planning

    • Drive organizational and project learnings/best practices to continually improve organization to best in class project/program management
    • Strong background in negotiation skills and familiar with service agreements and contract requirements for development/clinical/commercial alliances
    • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
    • Relevant IT skills (able to work with Visio, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Apply knowledge and expertise of the industry and competitive environment
    • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills; able to concisely summarize complex technical information.
