Job Description

We are looking for an inside sales, production and shipping and recieving associate to be part of a fast-growing steel service center that specializes in narrow slitting, edge conditioning and flat bar/strip with a focus on heavy gauge. We will pay for experience and offer a competitive compensation package to great candidates. Qualified candidates ideal will have some experience in sales, production management, shipping and recieving. data entry and customer service tasks in an industrial or steel company’s office. They must be able to use Microsoft office and either know how to use PS Data software or be able to quickly learn how to use new software systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Talking to customer regularly via email and phone, including quoting customers

● Assigning steel and enter customer specification into our software system

● Scheduling freight for shipments coming in and going out

● Directing truck drivers as they come into the office

● Receive inventory into our computer system

● Help with production scheduling

● Process and invoice customer orders

● Make sales orders

● Communicate closely with workers in the plant to maintain efficiency and productivity

REQUIRED SKILLS

● Steel, metal, industrial or manufacturing experience prefered

● MS Office proficient

● PS Data or other Steel software experience is required

● Strong communication skills, written/verbal. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is a bonus.

● Work well under pressure

● Strong organization skills

● Positive attitude, self-starter and is a good problem solver

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor’s degree is preferred

● 2 years of experience as an administrator at an industrial or steel related organization is preferred

MD Metals takes great pride in offering a full round edge on material up to .250” thick both in coil-to-coil and custom lengths to our customer’s needs.
