    Job Description

    Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and reliable Janitor to join our manufacturing facility team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for the entire facility, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained, and complying with all safety and health regulations.

    General Duties and Responsibilities

    • Proactively exhibits and promotes The McWane Way Principles.

    • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.

    • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

    • Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.

    • Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.

    Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities ( Other duties may be assigned.)

    • Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, spot cleaning and vacuuming floors to include office areas, break areas, conference areas, entry/exits ways, hallways, smoking areas and all restrooms.
    • Maintain and stock restroom facilities with necessary supplies.
    • Remove trash and recycling from the facility, and transport to designated areas for disposal.
    • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
    • areas, break areas, conference areas, entry/exits ways, hallways, smoking areas.
    • Ensure all lights are on/off and appropriate doors are locked when leaving an area.
    • Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuum cleaners, in a safe and effective manner.
    • Ability to obtain license for and operate power industrial trucks and street sweepers as needed.
    • Notify management of any safety hazards or maintenance issues in a timely manner.
    • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience

    • High school diploma/GED preferred.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
