  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY: The Master Production Scheduler Works with the forecasting team to develop and deliver a high level product line forecast that will then translate into monthly master production schedules.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyzes historical and forecasted sales data to develop monthly master production schedules across multiple product lines
    • Considers all demand requirements, along with production capacity and material constraints and loads the master production schedule into the ERP system on a monthly basis
    • Ensures planners firm and / or release jobs to the production floor with available material on hand and in a timely manner to meet customer demand and / or stock requirements
    • Ensures planners keep job alignment to support the master production schedules
    • Works with planners to maintain and update data in the ERP system
    • Supports daily production meetings to review adherence and performance against master production schedules
    • Along with production, responsible for master production planning metrics including schedule attainment, as well as root cause and corrective action if required
    • Participates in the monthly S&OP process and planning meetings
    • Plans and manages all new product production scheduling across all product lines
    • Works with Production and Industrial Engineering to ensure structure and accuracy of BOM and scrubs as necessary to ensure proper consumption of material and overall inventory accuracy
    • Utilizes the ERP system to its fullest to streamline and automate the scheduling process, planning, etc.
    • Works with Production and Industrial Engineering to eliminate / reduce production interruptions and reduction of line change-overs
    • May be involved and / or support production floor kaizen and continuous improvement activities

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of experience in relevant Operations and/or Supply Chain functions
    • Knowledge and history working in a make to stock environment and make to order environment
    • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
    • Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning)
    • Works directly with Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service, and Industrial Engineering
    • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
    • Good at math and statistics
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication abilities

    EDUCATION:

    • Minimum BS / BA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering or similar discipline

    PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

    • APICS Certification preferred

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years minimum experience in school setting, including nutrition programs or education.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with, build collaboration and partnership with school administrators and educators, school nutrition staff, principals, local leaders and non-profit executives.
    • Knowledge of implementation and administration of school nutrition programs or school administration preferred.
    • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while coordinating work flow in a deadline-driven and service-focused environment.
    • Must be proactive and a self-starter with excellent problem-solving and implementation skills.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills: ability to maintain strong professional relationships with a range of groups in-person and by writing and phone, underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence.
    • Demonstrated interest in anti-hunger and anti-poverty issues.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills in MS Office, and ability to quickly learn new programs and platforms.
    • Driver's license and car required. Most work will be performed in the San Antonio area or Rio Grande Valley area; however, some travel to other regions will also be expected.
    • Spanish fluency STRONGLY PREFERRED.
