    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position assists the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager with Change Order Requests, EPO management, and option management within the assigned division.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Receive, research and process trade partner EPO requests and Change Orders
    • Maintain accurate item pricing in JDE and implement changes and projects as requested by the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager
    • Maintain strong relationships with Construction Managers and Trade Partners to resolve cost changes and issues in a timely manner
    • Create and maintain option catalogs as requested by the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager
    • Assist in managing and maintaining architectural plans ensuring plans meet required code, plans used by production match plans used for bidding and budgeting and serve as liaison between local architecture firm(s) and division
    • Involved with trade management, vendor loading/assignment, bi-directional service and quality (M/I Homes to vendor; vendor to M/I Homes) and vendor contracting
    • Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of the HMS system on a day-to-day basis
    • Assist the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager with maintaining cost and price data for community specifications and standard option offerings
    • Compiles, verifies, calculates and distributes hard cost items including costs for permits, driveways, public walks and lot programming in order to assist the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager to provide accurate housing budgets (area figures)
    • Assist with vendor training and new contractor orientations
    • Assist with vendor rebate and incentive recognition in the division
    • Assist the VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Manager with researching and implementing new products, construction processes and/or services
    • Ensures closed loop interdepartmental communication and issue resolution
    • Strategic departmental planning and structure
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Required Skills Required Experience

    MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience (preferred but not required)
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in purchasing and/or estimating developing accurate construction estimates and negotiating material and labor contracts
    • JDE experience preferred
    • BuildPro experience preferred

    WORK CONDITIONS:

    Office environment with rare travel to job sites.
