  • Responsibilities

    The Administrative Assistant supports Stetson University by ensuring the effective operation of the Program in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (SPREES) by collaborating with other members of the Russian Studies office staff, faculty, and students. They are responsible for providing administrative support to the program director and program faculty. This position is a point of contact with the public, faculty, students, and University employees.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Employment duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Handle general office queries and requests for information.
    • Handle the program director’s calendar and scheduling requests as needed.
    • Handle scheduling, promotion, outreach, campaigns, and educational program events
    • Supervise program student employees.
    • Provide administrative support for office operations, including events, faculty, and students.
    • Submit budget requests and maintain multiple budgets.
    • Communicate and collaborate with other campus offices to ensure the timely functioning of processes.
    • Assist in travel arrangements and itineraries for faculty and guest speakers.
    • Assist and support program faculty with the execution of academic and student-related activities.
    • Handle and maintain all office communications and correspondence.
    • Perform other site position-specific functions as assigned.

    Required Experience

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • At least one to three years of administrative support experience
    • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment.
    • Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate’s qualifications include:

    • Knowledge of basic accounting.
