    ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY

     

     

    PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

     

    The Adjunct Instructor for Architectural Technology will be responsible for the course design and instruction of building technology- oriented Architecture/ Engineering/ Construction (AEC)-prefixed courses. These courses will include AEC 123 Commercial Construction Drawing, and may in the future encompass additional similar responsibilities for AEC 218 Sustainable Building Systems, AEC 116 Building Materials, AEC 102 Residential Construction Drawing, and AEC 121 Construction Materials and Systems.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    The Adjunct Instructor for Architectural Technology will design the specific course curriculum, grading system, and assignments for the course or courses identified above. The course is conducted over a fifteen (15) week Part of Term and will include the provision of regular office hours for students outside of class meeting hours per the requirements of the Faculty Handbook. This position will conform to the Departmental requirements for attendance and participation in departmental meetings and required trainings.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     

    EDUCATION:         Master of Architecture or professional degree equivalent.

     

     

    EXPERIENCE:       2000 hours minimum of documented professional work experience; active professional licensure can be evaluated for satisfaction of the requirement for currency of professional experience.

     

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:      Familiarity with common digital design software (AutoCAD, BIM, 3D modeling applications, Photoshop/ Illustrator proficiency desirable.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Must have DoD Unified Capability (UC), Voice Over IP (VOIP), and eVOIP experience in order to provide engineering, planning, testing, and management experience to support DoD Gateways.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) configuration and setting AD servers and their domain controllers.
    • Must have experience with conducting Security Test and Evaluations under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), understanding of risk management practices and security program development including change management, access control, and physical security.
    • Must be knowledgeable with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and have IP network and security engineering experience including a basic understanding of IP routing, quality of service mechanisms, MPLS, and IPsec architectures.
    • Ability to develop emerging network solutions, user requirements and alignment and business case development.
    • Provide technical and operational input to develop CONOPS and applicable training material.
    • Hands on experience installing, configuring, administering and operating Tenable Security Center and Nessus Scanner, known as Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) in the DoD environment.
    • Hands on experience with Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Host Based Security System (HBSS) and eMASS.

     

    DESIRED SKILLS: Broad knowledge and expertise with DoD network and enclave architecture and operations and associated standards for open systems architectures.
