  • Responsibilities

    WR is potentially seeking a General Lab Technician to support the NAVSEA program in the production and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment.

     

     

    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

     

     

    • General Lab Technician will be responsible for layouts, builds, installs, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifications to developmental and production electronic equipment.
    • Collaborates with Electronics Engineer to discuss layouts, assembly procedures, and problems with electronic units.
    • Draws sketches and clarifies design details and functional criteria required for units.
    • Assembles experimental circuitry (breadboard) and complete prototype models.
    • Performs mechanical assembly and integration of equipment to specified requirements.
    • Maintains configuration management practices across variant systems.

     

     

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • At least five (5) years of progressive experience performing work in support of production, integration, installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic systems and equipment.
    • At least two (2) years of progressive experience as a technician working with interrelationships of circuits and 2M repair.
    • Experience troubleshooting complex problems and a detailed understanding of electronic equipment.

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

    Must have knowledge of construction skills including carpentry; reading blueprints; use of hand and power tools and possess a both a technical and mechanical aptitude.  Customer-service oriented with good verbal and written communication skills.  Position is required to interact with a variety of people including customers, vendors, and employees from other departments.  Must be adaptable and have the flexibility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously.  Must possess decision-making and problem-solving abilities to select among alternative courses of action within budget limitations; detail-oriented for time management effectiveness.  A working knowledge of Outlook and Build Pro is a plus.
