    We are seeking a PRINCIPAL HARDWARE ENGINEER to join our hardware development team based at our corporate headquarters located in Andover, MA, USA about 30 minutes north of Boston.

     

    The PRINCIPAL HARDWARE ENGINEER will work with a global cross-functional team of FPGA, Software, SQA, mechanical, compliance, manufacturing and manufacturing test engineers to develop industry-leading cable broadband and wireless infrastructure products.

     

    The PRINCIPAL HARDWARE ENGINEER will lead the architecture, specification, design, development and verification of wireless infrastructure products and associated baseband processing, transceivers, and RF subsystems. The PRINCIPAL HARDWARE ENGINEER is responsible for all phases of system development from concept through production release, and will collaborate with product managers to define products, assess and select or develop key technologies, lead product design, generate specification and  test plans, conduct design reviews, identify and mitigate risk; direct and perform DVT and system-level performance validation; develop design enhancements for existing platforms, and provide technical leadership for both internal and ODM/JDM development teams.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Lead definition and design of cable broadband and/or wireless infrastructure products, with responsibility for hardware platform development from conception through production.
    • Develop test plans and specifications, conduct design reviews, identify and mitigate risk.
    • Direct and perform DVT and system-level performance validation.
    • Develop design enhancements for existing platforms.
    • Direct ODM/JDM development partners.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

      

    • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.  Master’s preferred.
    • 10+ to 15 years of relevant work experience.
    • Knowledge of PCB design and characteristics for RF signaling, RF signal propagation characteristics and RF impedance matching techniques.
    • Experience with RF modulation concepts, amplifier and linearization technologies, digital and analog filters, broadband RF receiver and amplifier chain design, test methodology and test equipment.
    • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, including Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and/or Cadence OrCAD/Allegro.
    • Experience with design, analysis and scripting tools including, ADS, CTS, MATLAB, Python.
    • Able to prioritize, organize and manage multiple tasks and to work both independently and as part of a team.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Development experience with 5G wireless architectures and standards including O-RAN and SCF.
