    The Department of Social and Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences at Shenandoah University invites applications for an Adjunct Professor in Criminal Justice for the upcoming 2026-27 Academic Year. This position is located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

    For the 2026-27 Academic Year, the candidate will teach 6 credits in Fall 2026, Introduction to Criminal Justice, and another course that involves policing, the courts, or corrections. Ideally, the candidate will also be able to teach one or more courses in Spring 2027 to fill short-term gaps in the program.

    Teaching is recognized as the most important faculty activity at Shenandoah University, and we seek faculty members who focus on individual student learning styles and motivations.

    Required Skills

    Requirements include:

    • A master's degree with at least 18 credit hours in graduate-level Criminal Justice or Criminology courses is required for this position. A PhD in Criminal Justice or Criminology is preferred.
    • Significant and/or extensive work experience in the field of Criminal Justice may replace the Master’s degree requirement in some instances.
    • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
    • Prospective applicants must be able to teach in person.
