Business Analyst

SUMMARY:
Business Analyst will provide analytical support in the evaluation of potential hotel investments (Acquisitions, Saves, New Developments, and Management Takeovers), with specific focus on leading the investment analysis, property-specific underwriting, market research, site inspections/property tours, and preparation of investment materials, proposals and presentations for internal and external partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leverage data to provide investment analyses and valuation support for the decision-making process of our Executive Team will include conducting analyses and evaluating value-add opportunities on M&R’s existing portfolio to maximize operational performance and investment value.
- Produce financial modeling of new acquisitions and development opportunities across all hotel property types. (Full Service and Select Service)
- Prepare detailed market due diligence and research, including supply/demand fundamentals, economic trends, and comparable sales, etc.
- Accurately and thoroughly complete transition-related tasks including, but not limited to, developing budgets, reviewing leases, reviewing offering memorandum, responding to lenders to resolve underwriting questions, reviewing loan documents, and running models to show budget implications within established timeframes.
- Create compelling and creative business plans and offering materials for various new business opportunities.
- Prepare internal and external reports and presentations, including coordinating meetings.
- Develop and maintain development budgets for multiple projects.
- Review legal documents and implement terms into financial models.
- Collaborate closely with other hotel management teams, including Sales, Operations, Procurement, Revenue Management and People & Culture.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the industry and market trends, competitive intelligence, and consumers.
- Perform other ad-hoc analyses as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Hospitality; or equivalent years of experience.
- 2 to 4 years with financial analysis, modeling, real estate feasibility and / or investment analysis experience.
- Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to perform in high pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Self-starter mentality, ability to work independently, and motivation to learn new techniques, skills, and knowledge.
- Expert skills with Excel, Word & PowerPoint are mandatory, as are strong writing and communication skills.
- Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- This position is on site either in Midtown Manhattan or Great Neck, NY Corporate Office.
