  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Including, but not limited to the following:

    • Manage a team of up to 8 software engineers building and supporting NAS’ software services.
    • Set goals aligned with engineering team and company objectives, coach and mentor via regular 1:1s, train team members, and help them grow their skills and careers.
    • Drive development and production support activities, working to improve non-functional system metrics such as page performance, MTTR, and release cadence.
    • Collaborate with the NAS Head of Engineering and with cross-functional leaders (Product, Client Services, etc.) to deliver enhancements and new products and services to drive revenue growth.
    • Lead agile processes from the engineering side, clarify requirements, design and improve processes, champion the adoption of engineering best practices (i.e., automated testing, peer-based code review, automation)
    • Support the team hands-on as needed to write or review code, design systems, communicate with non-technical stakeholders, clarify requirements, break through blockers.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, including at least 3 years of web application development
    • 1+ years of people management experience
    • Broad technical foundation in full-stack web development: HTTP, TLS, networking, hardware, application frameworks, etc.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-Code, Azure preferred
    • Expertise in web application development in two or more languages (C#.NET and Typescript preferred)
    • Expertise with SQL, relational, and non-relational databases
    • API design experience (i.e. REST, GraphQL, gRPC)
    • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
    • Self-motivated critical thinker who thrives in a small team environment
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
    • Strong problem solving and logical thinking skills
