SUMMARY:
Directs controlling activities of the organization including reporting, cost accounting, economic projects, and price calculations. Approves the expenditures of the company and analyzes the performance of actual vs. budget. Projects forecasts. Together with the Finance function, ensure that financial processes are accurate, efficient and in accordance with the current generally accepted accounting principles. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and financial management. Interact extensively with Corporate Controlling to insure proper, timely and accurate information flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Develops and implement the Controlling Department's targets, projects, policies, procedures, methods, and controls.
Serve as a strategic member of the leadership team by aligning logistics practices with business strategy to ensure organizational targets are met or exceeded.
Establishes, or recommends to management, major economic objectives, and policies for facility.
Coordinate’s preparation of the business plan. Prepares and direct preparation of reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Develops, maintains, and continuously improve internal controls to protect resources and to detect and eliminate errors misuse of assets.
Prepares and submits reports for local, group and corporate management. Makes presentations.
Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
Support the Finance function with the auditors, especially with the inventory and cost accounting issues. Together with the Logistics manager (or correlated function) is responsible for the physical inventory count, analyzing the results and proposing, if necessary, action plans.
Calculate prices and standard costs. Plans study and collects data to determine cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. Plays a major role in cost improvement activities.
Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Work together with Engineering adjusting Bill of Materials (BOM) and routings in the system.
Helps managers and supervisors in the plant, creating viability projects or financial analysis.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for supervising the onsite finance team including performance and talent management activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Business Administration or Accounting Degree and 5-10 years in Controlling departments, 3 of which have been in a supervisory position in a manufacturing company.
Experience in an international automotive environment preferred.
Professional Accounting Designation required.
Automotive experience essential, automotive engineering exposure preferred.
2-3 years’ experience in a cost controlling function preferred.
Familiar with computer-based accounting systems. Experience with use of graphics software (i.e. PowerPoint), word processing software (i.e. Word) and database software (i.e. Access) required. Advanced working knowledge of worksheet software (preferably Excel) is mandatory. SAP experiences an asset.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must be fluent in English. Working level second language skills is a plus. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to communicate effectively with peers, managers, and directors, and to present to groups of customers or employees of the organization. Values and considers the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply concepts and information typically taught during a four-year college or university course.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define and solve complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The environment will vary based on work position.

All individuals are required to wear ANSI rated approved safety glasses, with side shields, and steel or composite-toe safety shoes. Additional personal protective equipment is required in some work areas such as hearing protection.

SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Adhere to company safety rules and all federal and state reporting agencies requirements such as OSHA and EPA.
Understand the ISO-14001 Environmental Policy and the ISO-45001 Safety Policy which requires individuals to comply with environmental health and safety regulations, prevention of pollution, and continual improvement.
WORK HOURS
Employees must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week which can be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
