    Job Description

    Manufacturing company with headquarters located in Ontario, CA, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee company-wide QA functions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BA/BS degree (or equivalent) plus,
    • Five or more years of Quality Assurance or Production Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
    • Excellent knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 9001:2015, Lean Manufacturing and Engineering;
    • Knowledge of CPK studies, PPAP, 5 Whys and FMEAs;
    • Strong writing and communication and communication skills required;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
    • Good analytic and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous automotive industry experience desired, but not required;
    • Previous experience overseeing onsite audits required;
    • Excellent mathematics and measuring skills.
    • The ability to use measuring tools accurately; such as, a tape measure, micrometer and caliper.
    • The ability to travel, which may include overnight stays.
    • Bilingual Spanish/English (speak/read/write) highly desired.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization;
    • Develops, implements, communicates and maintains a quality plan to bring the Company's Quality Systems and Policies into compliance and certification of ISO quality system requirements;
    • Works with Purchasing staff to establish and maintain quality requirements from external suppliers;
    • Works effectively with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products;
    • Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation;
    • Works with Safety Team to develop and implement environmental and health and safety standards;
    • Defines quality procedures and methods in conjunction with operations staff;
    • Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures;
    • Organizes and manages quality assurance function in close cooperation with the customers and with the Company’s management team;
    • Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensures the execution of corrective actions and compliance with customers’ specifications;
    • Prepares clear explanatory documents such as customers’ charters;
    • Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports;
    • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training
    • Provides supervision and guidance to technical staff in carrying out tests and checks;
    • Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures;
    • Leads monthly company-wide KPI meetings; reports findings and establishes action plans for corrective actions;
    • Manages and maintains the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods;
    • Formulates and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the quality.

    This position reports directly to the company President. The job requires approximately 40% general office environment and 60% production/shop area.
