JOB SUMMARY
The Partnership Development Officer position is responsible for building partner relationships that maximize the use of MAP'S Gift in Kind inventory and to meet partner/beneficiary needs in the field through donations in developing countries. The Partnership Development Officer is expected to ensure that all partners meet MAP's rigorous standards for partner eligibility, work to coordinate the logistics of allocating inventory and shipping to the partner organization, and when required to also travel globally to the partner location to perform requisite monitoring and evaluation work. The work requires someone who can both be customer minded and work within the constraints of inventory levels and shipping delays. The role works with a current list of assigned partnerships and works to actively prospect for new partners to grow MAP's medicine distribution to a higher level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and maintains partnerships with an assigned portfolio of program partners to distribute MAP medicines and supplies for rehabilitation, relief and ongoing provision of health programs.
• Collect all relevant materials for partner eligibility and work with the Quality Control Officer to complete the process
• Works to successfully allocate both donated (GIK) and purchase inventory to match partner needs requests from multiple countries matching their formularies and dating requirements for large agency shipments.
• Manages partner relationships with a variety of agencies for medical supply services for Long Term Health programs. Maintains, grows, and prevents the attrition of those relationships, through regular personal contacts and visits in the US and internationally.
• Generates new partnerships at a minimum of 10% of individual revenue coming from new partners.
• Assist with annual budget planning for the Long Term Health Development department for each fiscal year.
• Ensures each partner in the portfolio is adequately screened and eligibility forms are updated annually according to MAP standards, ACCORD, and WHO guidelines.
• In country partner visits to confirm receipt and partner handling of medicine as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Pharmacist, Sr Director of Programs. This position does not have any direct reports.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in a related field is required.
• Master's degree in International Business or MBA, preferred.
• Experience in international travel to various geographical locations and cultures is preferred.
• 3-5 years experience in cultivating and managing a portfolio of clients or accounts.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong interpersonal skills, especially in relationship management.
• Humanitarian Aid coordination to include logistics and customs procedures.
• Spanish speaking, preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM process and documentation.
• Strong verbal and written business to business communications skills.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Internet) and ability to operate within database programs.
• Moderate to advanced skill set in Excel.
• Experience in logistical or inventory management software.
• Must be able to multi-task, be persistent, and respond to tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness and ability to speak in front of large audiences.
• Capacity to travel internationally, often with minimal advanced notice.
• Must be confident, self-starter and able to work independently.
