Job Summary
An Associate Salvage Analyst learns to study the salvage vehicle marketplace through observation of vehicle auctions and review of vehicle appraisals. They review and determine expectations for auction performance and evaluate whether a salvaged vehicle should be sold based on daily performance.
An understanding of auto claim handing, automotive repairs, and salvage vehicle returns within local and regional auction markets is required to identify purchasing trends and work to improve results on behalf of our customer base. Responsibilities include detailed vehicle review through online platforms to ensure the accuracy of the information, real-time monitoring of scheduled auctions, timely decision-making on decisions to sell, and negotiation toward a final vehicle sale price. The accuracy of the information in data entry is critical. The ability to weigh risk and reasonable probability of market increases are necessary for achieving long-term success within the role.
Additionally, an Associate Salvage Analyst must consider total loss handling practices from insurance claims organizations and offer actionable suggestions for future process change. This involves but is not limited to suggestive updates to vehicle listings to provide clarity to prospective buyers.

Qualifications and Skills
Experience in the insurance industry or a related financial analyst position is desired. Preferably related to claims, auto physical damage, and total loss adjusting. A college degree is preferred, and two years of work experience in a corporate environment is required. Additionally, a qualified candidate must possess and demonstrate proficient computer skills, including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as Internet navigation and email proficiency, access to personal transportation, excellent driving record, ability to travel, and a willingness to relocate.
The ideal candidate will be trusted to multitask with minimal direct supervision in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate dependability, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
