POSITION SUMMARY

As a Tax Staff at MBAF, your primary responsibility will be preparing simple individual, trust, partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation and foreign tax returns. You will also act as a vital resource for your team assisting with specific tax-related client questions, meeting periodic performance goals, preparing tax plans and estimates, and responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze data and prepare work papers and tax returns based on professional standards for a variety of entities and individuals.
• Identify, research, and assess various tax issues while also providing information to seniors and managers.
• Prepare and review annual and quarterly income tax provisions.
• Assist with tax planning, research and consulting engagements as requested.
• Complete basic research pertaining to applicable accounting standards.
• Provide ongoing status updates to direct supervisor.
• Deliver exceptional client services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 semester hours of education preferred)
• CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
• Relevant work experience (i.e. internships, summer positions, school jobs)  
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites if needed
