  • Responsibilities

    Service Technician is responsible for operating a YESCO service vehicle and providing several types of sign and lighting repairs and installations in a timely and efficient manner. In exercising these duties, workmanship and efficiency are the major objectives to satisfy our customers’ expectations.

    *Responsibilities – *Service Technician

    • Organizes and maintains appropriate stock items on service trucks in a manner that is neat, organized, and efficient.

    • Manages daily service orders to be the most logistically efficient.

    • Communicates with direct manager regarding product and material needs daily to facilitate job completion in a timely manner.

    • Provide quality workmanship with all services provided.

    • Communicate with onsite managers in a professional and courteous manner to communicate job expectations.

    • Maintain a clean and well-groomed professional appearance.

    • Communicates with other service staff regarding general or specific job service items.

    • Operates service vehicle in a safe and courteous manner to project a positive and safe company image.

    • Cleaning service vehicle as needed to display a positive company image.

    • Operate company provided tablet in an accurate and efficient manor to have all records undated and specific to each individual job.

    • Troubleshoot and solve repair issues to the best of one’s abilities. Seeks out help when guidance is needed.

    Skill and Performance Standards – Service Technician

    The following items are the list of skill and activities this employee will be expected to accomplish to a varying degree of proficiency depending on the needs of the company, the time in the job and the changing environment of the work. Each item found below will be reviewed periodically to evaluate an employee’s progress in his/her responsibilities.

    • Job Management

    • Manage daily job schedule on company provided tablet.

    • Manage Servizio app with proficiency and accuracy.

    • Identify efficient route to conduct daily job repairs.

    • Identify and locate controls for individual signage or lighting system.

    • Evaluate site for outages in need of repair in accord with items identified within the specific job.

    • Make all necessary repairs in accordance with the specific job in a timely and professional manner.

    • If additional outages exist, communicate with direct manager for guidance on how to proceed.

    • Clean job site of all debris and materials to leave site better than initially found.

    • Communicate with site manager upon completion of job or need for return visit.

    • Communicate with direct manager with job completion or need for return visit.

    • Complete trip log and hours log for each job visited.

    • Complete job notes with job performed, parts used and what parts may still be needed.

    • Enter line items within job accurately and completely.

    • Complete all jobs regarding sign repair, electrical repairs, lighting repairs or any additional types of repairs or installations in a timely and professional manner.

    • Vehicle Maintenance & Care

    • Track and manage necessary preventative maintenance items including but not limited to:

    • Oil changes / Level

    • Tire Pressure

    • Def Fluid Level

    • Any indicator lights that may appear on dash such as check engine light or other notifications.

    • Overall vehicle cleanliness

    • Remove all debris, trash at the end of each business day.

    • Restock all necessary materials and parts and the end of each day in accordance to the next day’s job list.

    • Safety

    • Operate vehicle in a safe and professional manner by abiding by the speed limit and following all local laws and vehicle operation ordinances.

    • Use ladders, scaffolding, lifts and bucket trucks in a safe and professional manner abiding by the rules and regulations for operating such equipment.

    • Wear all necessary safety restraints whenever operating lift equipment.

    • Follow and abide by all rules and safety guidelines in accordance to the rules set forth by OSHA.

    • Interacts well with customers by being courteous, helpful and resourceful.

    • Creates a positive impression with customers in person.

    • Handles disagreements and offensive behavior in a professional and respectful manner.
