    Position Title: BIM Design Modeler

    Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

    Location: Charlotte or Raleigh, NC

    MCI is seeking a highly skilled BIM Design Modeler to oversee the design and coordination of complex HVAC and plumbing projects. The successful candidate will ensure client requirements are met with professionalism and efficiency, orchestrating collaboration across multiple trades. Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks is essential, as are strong communication skills. This position is available in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC , and involves frequent collaboration with our established engineering group in Charlotte. The BIM Design Modeler will report directly to the Engineer-Of-Record.

    Essential Duties

    • Design HVAC and plumbing systems and models, ensuring integration with overall building design.
    • Select appropriate equipment and evaluate submittals.
    • Develop responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
    • Design ductwork and piping systems and generate comprehensive plans.
    • Produce construction shop drawings and coordinate structural openings.
    • Approve submittals and conduct site inspections.
    • Maintain regular interaction with building owners, property management, and members of the design and construction teams.
    • Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards and details as needed.
    • Assist the service and controls group on a limited basis.
    • Ensure clear and effective communication with Marketing, Sales, Estimating teams, and Project Leaders.
    • Coordinate with project teams on special requirements, including LEED certification projects.
    • Maintain high quality of design documents from initial concept through completion of construction.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • ****College degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
    • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in BIM design.
    • Proficient in Autodesk products, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
    • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, and various mechanical systems.
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in team environments and interact professionally with various stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, adhere to deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
    • Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
    • Self-motivated with a keen ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.

    Compensation

    Salary ; Compensation is based on experience and education, with a typical range of $65,000 to $85,000.

    Annual Bonus: An annual bonus is awarded based on performance.
