The Project Assistant will receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded to eligible employees in recognition of individual and firm performance. As a Project Assistant at Latham, you will provide clerical support to the paralegals and attorneys, including but not limited to organizing documents, assembling documents in bound volumes and binders, indexing collections of documents, retrieving documents, and maintaining files. You must have the ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations:

    • Coordinating the work of support departments, secretaries, and project assistants to retrieve, assemble and/or organize documents for review by supervisors
    • Preparing specified forms, letters or other legal documents
    • Obtaining documents and certificates from local, state, or federal agencies
    • Conducting basic searches and creating reports in databases or other document repositories
    • Proofreading and preparing documents 
    • Maintaining the integrity of the case or transactional documents generated throughout the duration of a case or transaction
    • Completing special projects on various issues as assigned

  • Qualifications
    • Familiarity and experience with HM&E shipboard equipment on Military Vessels.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Excel above casual user experience. Must be able to work unsupervised creating, editing, combining, and presenting complicated Excel spreadsheets for import into US Government Data bases.
    • Experience with parts ordering, part top down breakout structure, parts catalogs, maintenance of HM&E shipboard equipment, and repair parts technical manuals
    • Candidate must have active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain clearance
