    The Business Development Junior Specialist receive a generous total compensation package. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance.     Client Programs & Events conceptualizes, researches, plans, and executes client-focused events and programs in support of the Firm’s targeting, client service, and client development objectives. BD CORE is a dedicated team positioned to interact with and provide support to the Business Development department globally. 

     

    As a Business Development Junior Specialist at Latham, you will be responsible for executing a high volume of client dinners and various hospitality events, as well as, supporting Client Programs & Events team members on larger event initiatives.  You will assist in aspects of the event management process including venue research, budgeting, planning, onsite execution and preparation of post-event reports. As a member of the BD Core team, you will also be a part of a centralized team that supports colleagues within the department to execute tasks that are integral to the success of the Firm’s business development objectives. This role will provide an opportunity to interact with colleagues across Latham’s offices. The responsibilities of the Junior Specialist will include:

    • Providing a high level of customer service to internal and external clients
    • Researching venues and preparing summaries of availability, costs, and capacities; handling, negotiating, and managing facility arrangements for room set-up, technical assistance, and catering
    • Coordinating logistics including mailing lists, invitations, collateral, and on-site event management
    • Ensuring tracking of Client Programs & Events related data (calendars, CRM system, etc.)
    • Working closely with Brand & Communications colleagues to ensure events and all related materials are compliant with brand guidelines
    • Continually monitoring event and programming trends, industry best practices, and competitor intelligence
    • Proactively keeping abreast of firm resources, contacts, and subject matter experts to provide efficient solutions by connecting with and collaborating across functional areas
    • Learning Latham-specific tools and applications as necessary to perform certain research or other related job duties
    • Supporting the global Business Development department with a suite of core services, including:
      • Client intelligence research, including liaising with the library for dossiers, and utilizing BoardEx, LinkedIn, and other online databases
      • Client relationship research and updates using InterAction
      • Lawyer biographies
      • Generating basic marketing collateral
    • Supporting on a variety of special projects

     

    As a Junior Specialist, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Junior Specialist must have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm. The ideal candidate will have the organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines. The Junior Specialist will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, good proofreading skills, and the willingness to complete all tasks and learn new skills.

     

    A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience, particularly in professional services or a law firm, is desired.

  • Qualifications

     

    • Experience with security tools (Nessus, HBSS, ACAS).
    • Perform scans, review the results, and write necessary reports and plans.
    • Knowledge of DOD applicable STIGs.
    • Knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
    • Experience with the RMF and PIT processes.
    • Experience with ACAS, SCAP Scanners.
    • OS Hardening.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Familiarity with Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.
    • Security+ and  one of the following CISSP,CISM or GSLC required.
