The Senior Engineering Consultant will support the Private Sector Optimization (PSO) team. This is a part-time position.

Some of the duties will include:

• Performing data collection and analysis US Navy depot-level maintenance and resourcing in support of Navy commands, including NAVSEA SEA21 and CNRMC. 
• Evaluation of maintenance metrics to help craft and shape strategic development of US Navy maintenance programs and initiatives.
• Development of models and forecasting tools to be used in support of briefs and reports for senior US Navy officials
• Drafting reports for the government that may be sent to Congress and/or senior US Navy officials  
• Analyzing and reviewing data collected from databases or programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements to support associated process and program improvements

Required Skills

• ACTIVE DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO START

• Able to develop modeling and methodologies to evaluate complex systems, including the Navy's maintenance strategies

• Understand the life cycle planning process for US Navy ships

• Understand the different government contracting methods used in the ship repair industry

• Able to perform detailed phases of major projects

• Able to demonstrated superior technical skills and management skills

Required Experience

• External reputation as a recognized expert in Navy maintenance planning/requirements communities
• Served in command(s) involved in the maintenance and/or planning process for US Navy surface ships
• Planned, organized, led, and carried out larger, more complex projects or several small projects
• Experience defending military requirements through the DoD funding/budgeting process
• Worked with small teams on large, short term projects for the government
• Hold a BS with a minimum of 15 years of experience or an MS with a minimum of 13 years of experience
