    POSITION TITLE:  Advanced Studies Program Faculty (Masters Emphasis Programs in Teaching and Learning and Technology)

    LOCATION:  Azusa Campus and Online 

    DESCRIPTION:

    This full-time faculty position requires teaching a variety of master level courses in the Advanced Studies department. Teaching occurs in a 100% online environment delivered through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). 

     

    SPECIALIZATION:

    Ability to teach a variety of graduate-level courses in teaching, as well as in learning and technology (i.e.current issues in teaching and technology, best practices, research and assessment of teaching practices; designing and infusing technology-embedded curriculum for today’s digital learner). 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Teaching online graduate level courses in the Master of Arts in Education: Teaching and Master of Arts in Education: Learning and Technology program. 
    • Provide support for faith integration across the curriculum.
    • Active participation in service to the University through committee participation at the program, School and/or University level, as well as service to the broader professional community. 
    • Maintain ongoing connection and collaboration with relevant professional education organizations (i.e. ISTE, CCTE).
    • Maintain an on-going research agenda.

     

        

    LEVEL:

    Open rank, dependent upon prior experience.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University (faculty members are required to sign a “Statement of Faith,” available at http://www.apu.edu/about/believe, adhere to the policies outlined in the Faculty Handbook and align with Azusa Pacific University’s Christian identity. 
    • PhD or EdD in education, educational technology or a related field (ABD will be considered). 
    • Minimum of 7 years related K-12 teaching experience.
    • Successful experience in the use of online technologies for student assessment and teaching.
    • Experience with curriculum, instructional strategies, technology tools and integration of technology into the K-12 teaching/learning environment. 
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional and scholarly activity (e.g., grant writing, scholarly publications, and conference presentations).
    • Established record of success in serving linguistically and ethnically diverse populations.
    • Demonstration of collegial teamwork.

     

    EXPERIENCE:  

    • Skilled in teaching at the P-12 and higher education level with a background in teaching pedagogies, curriculum and infusion of technology-embedded curricular strategies. 
    • Successful graduate level teaching experience in online learning environments (Canvas preference).

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
      • Review specifications, technical manuals, and other technical documentation that relate to HM&E systems.
        • Support project planning and execution efforts for technical documentation research, development, and analyses.
        • Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) concepts in maintenance requirement analysis.
        • Review maintenance documentation for clarity, conformity, and proper structure according to the Navy’s most recent guidelines.
        • Facilitate effective government and industry team relationships.
        • Facilitate and participate in project team meetings and discussions to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
        • Be familiar with LBES/Modernization training and system level training for in-service and new construction ships.
        • Conduct classroom training and lab training and hot plant operations at LBES
        • Develop End of Mission reports, which provides comments on success of the classes, participation by the crew, adequacy of curriculum and equipment
        • Provide direct support to the assigned program technical manager.
        • Must be able to develop productive relationships and interface with the fleet, waterfront supporting organizations, NAVSEA and field activities.
        • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) are required.
        • Must be familiar with U.S. Navy 3M policies and procedures.
        • Experience in various formalized Navy training environments. Delivering Training material, administering tests, evaluating performance, and performing curriculum maintenance to meet formalized training requirements.
        • Understanding of EOSS, EOCC, and the role they play in engineering plants on DDG and/or CG class ships.
        • ETT experience a plus.
        • Expertise/Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
        • Travel up to 25% of the time.
        • MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
