    Responsible for the shipping and receiving process of the Campus Store . Work with the Course Materials Buyer regarding the timely return of textbooks.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • High school graduate or GED equivalent.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Two years of shipping/receiving experience preferred.
    • Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    • Receive, price and distribute all textbooks and course materials using WinPrism/ICS software program.
    • Maintain textbook area in the store and in the stockroom.
    • Provide assistance to students.
    • Process all telephone and web orders, includes cash register operation and shipping.
    • Process all textbook reservations.
    • Processes return of textbooks to publishers and track shipments to insure delivery.
    • Make deliveries to various departments on campus.
    • Perform daily buyback duties.
    • Assist in maintaining Campus Store area in warehouse.
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
    • Maintains compliance with APU mission, vision, positional statements and other policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
    • Other duties as assigned by Campus Store Manager.
    • Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.

     

    SKILLS

    • Excellent customer service skills; ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers.
    • Keyboard 40-50 wpm.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in oral and written form with faculty, staff and students.
    • Ability to balance a variety of tasks and demands under pressure.
    • Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift.
    • Ability to manage details and follow through. 
    • Must be collaborative and an effective team member and team builder.

    • Self-starter, able to work with little supervision.

    COMPENSATION

    • Grade 4: $14.64-$19.03/hourly
    • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Security clearance and be capable of obtaining a Common Access Card

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Minimum of ten (10) years of general hands-on Electrical/Electronics experience with US Navy electrical/electronic equipment, including three (3) years on LCS HM&E equipment

    Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.

    Knowledge to properly verify equipment is de-energized

    Ability to pass PQS 301 Craftsmen qualifications

    Have knowledge of systems such as:

    • Vapor Tracer² Hand-held Explosive Detector HHED4361

    • Power Conversion, Special Purpose Components

    • 2/3 Eye MULTIMODAL WORKSTATION (MMWS)

    • Parasense Model 3300RM2 Refrigerant Leak Monitoring System (LCS Class

    • Systems covered in previous column

    • Proficient using general and special purpose Electrical/Electronics test equipment to perform maintenance.

    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy preventive maintenance program.

    • Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • U.S. Navy technician skills and training
    • U.S. Navy LCS Class electrical/electronic shipboard experience
