    The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the mid-level providers by performing selected nursing, clinical, and laboratory duties as delegated by the physician and Administrative Director.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Two years in a medical clinic office preferred

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Prepare treatment rooms for patient exam, keeping rooms and counters neat and clean with drawers stocked.
    • Show patients to exam rooms and prepare them for the providers.
    • Interview patients to obtain chief medical complaint and measure vital signs.
    • Record patients’ vital signs, current medications, all allergies in the electronic medical record at every visit
    • Record information such as rapid test results in the patient’s electronic medical record.
    • Prepare and administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the providers.
    • Collect blood, tissue, and other laboratory specimens, log the specimens and prepare for lab pick up.
    • Explain treatment procedures and provider instructions to the patients.
    • Assist providers to examine and treat patients, setting up for procedures and providing instruments as needed.
    • Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies as directed by providers.
    • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
    • Monitor and exchange full biohazard sharps containers in exam rooms, lab, and procedure room.
    • Change dressings on wounds.
    • Inventory of supplies, medications, and vaccines including monitoring expiration dates.
    • Restock OTC medications in hallways and exam rooms.
    • Perform monthly Quality Assurance checks on laboratory and emergency equipment.
    • Perform routine diagnostic tests such as electrocardiogram (EKG), Spirometry, and rapid lab testing.
    • Track all referral from Health Center and follow up to get referral reports from outside offices.
    • Scan documents into patient record.
    • Cover Front Office when needed
    • Other duties as assigned by physician or director.

    COMPENSATION

    • Grade 5: $16.11-$20.94/hourly
    • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Security clearance and be capable of obtaining a Common Access Card

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Minimum of ten (10) years of general hands-on Mechanical experience with US Navy HM&E equipment, including three (3) years on LCS HM&E equipment.

    • Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.

    Ability to pass PQS 301 Craftsmen qualifications

    Looking for multiple candidates with expertise in the areas of:

    • Parasense Model 3300RM2 Refrigerant Leak Monitoring System
    • Valves and Valve Operators
    • Motor Operated Valves
    • Air Conditioning Units, Self-Contained 
    • Ship Service Refrigeration Plant R-404a 
    • Manual Operated Valves (LCS Class)
    • Auxiliary Sea Water Systems (LCS CLASS)
    • Medium-Pressure Air Compressor (SAUER) 
    • Systems covered in previous column

    Candidate shall be proficient using general and special purpose tools and test equipment to perform organizational level maintenance.

    Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy preventive maintenance program.

    Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.

    Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

     PREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • U.S. Navy technician skills and training
    • U.S. Navy LSC Class mechanical shipboard experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND EXPECTATIONS:

    • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
