  • Responsibilities

    Role and Responsibilities(Duties include, but are not limited to the following) ·

    The Front Office Coordinator performs duties for administrative and management staff, as needed.

    Responsible for answering the phones, screen calls, relay messages promptly to staff, collect deductibles and co-pays as required by insurance.

    Responsible for patient demographics, data entry, insurance verification and demographics collection, as well as, relaying messages and other important information to staff and physicians onsite. ·

    This role will be responsible for greeting and registering patients in a prompt, professional, and compassionate manner. ·

    This individual will be key in checking in patients. ·

    This individual will be required to assist patients to ensure their maximum comfort (including refreshments, nourishment, etc.). ·

    This individual will handle patient questions during visits and via phone, new patient registration, light scheduling, providing advice and resolving problems in consultation with physician.

    Oversee the waiting area whilst coordinating patient movement and reporting problems or irregularities. Attend meetings as required.

    Required to travel to other locations when needed.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    High School Diploma ·

    Background in Hospitality, a plus.

    Preferred Skills & Experience Minimum 1 year of medical office experience; oncology physician environment a plus. ·

    Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and patients in-person, over the phone, or via email. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports, and correspondence. Typing ability of 80 wpm preferred. ·

    General understanding of healthcare billing and coding related to coinsurance, copay and collectibles. ·

    Medical insurance background preferred. ·

    Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems; HIPAA Compliance. ·

    Knowledge of health care administration practices. ·

    Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of computer systems and pharmacy applications (Mckesson, Asembia, Cardinal, OncoEMR, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) ·

    Ability to work professionally and effectively with staff, patients, public, external agencies. ·

    Ability to exercise proactivity with initiative, problem solving, decision-making.
