Career Adviser A career adviser will provide a direct care service for all consumers who participate in the supported employment program. The direct care services include but are not limited to: job coaching, skills training, assessment, counseling, intervention, and advocacy. Duties and Responsibilities: * Utilizes a variety of job coaching techniques to meet the consumer and employer's needs in on site work settings. * Identifies and analysis consumers work performance * Assists consumers in mastering job duties * Documents all progress of consumer(s) assigned * Provides interventions to consumers which may include but does not limit the following: counseling, advocacy, job coaching, skill training, assessment and referral. * Assists in the development and revisions of the annual, bi-annual and/or quarterly support employment service plan assigned. * Supervises consumers at work sites * Participates in any agency required training. * Ensures and complies with all MDN Employment Services policies and procedures. * Other duties as assigned Job Requirements: * Must be 18 years of age * Fingerprint clearance * Signed criminal record statement and dependent adult abuse report * Previous history with job coaching support, and instructional strategies. * Experience with individuals with a wide range of intellectual and physical disabilities, mental illness, substance use, including persons with the most severe challenges. * Experience in community- based instruction in critical life needs area. * Experience in assisting people to use adaptive devices and communication aids. * Experience with instruction in critical life need areas with emphasis on employment readiness, and job placement. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. * Ability to make effective presentations * Proficient in Microsoft office suite * Immediate access to a vehicle with up to date safety records and insurance accepted by the DMV. * Ability to travel within the assigned program area. * Successful completion of a drug screen and background check * Must be free of communicable disease of tuberculosis and agree to an initial PPD testing * CPR& First Aid/CPI certified, if not within the first 30- 60 days of employment. Education: * Equivalent level of experience, Associates Degree, or High School Diploma A non- discriminatory method will be utilized in the selection of individuals for employment.
