    The Accounting Assistant will keep financial records, prepare reports, and update financial information within a General Contracting firm. They must be familiar with accounting procedures and should have experience with accounting software programs such as Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will be able to process business transactions, handle accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, receipts, and other financial matters. Proven accounting experience required.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-day review of billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
    • Record transactions in the accounting system.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Maintain accounting records such as bank reconciliations and general ledger accounts.
    • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements.
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
    • Distributes accounting reports as directed.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements to external auditors for review.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Maintain records according to GAAP.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
    • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to GAAP.
    • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
    • Basic mathematical skills.
    • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Proficient in Sage Intacct.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field
    • At least 1 year of related experience required.

    Salary : $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday
