    ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Systems, the Electrical Controls Engineer position will design and assist in the implementation of electrical and control systems for the Company’s full offering of marking machines.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Electrical design of power and control circuits including component selection and electrical panel layouts.
    • Coordinate and work with Sales, Engineering, and Production to understand the necessary flow and design of control systems for material handling, marking, and inspection systems.
    • Create bill of materials (BOMs) in Infor CSI for release to Purchasing Department.
    • Create electrical schematics and layout drawings in AutoCAD-Electrical CAD software for release to Production Department.
    • Program laser systems using Allen-Bradley PLC as well as other PLC Programming Software.
    • Research and select for use various electrical components.
    • Design and assemble prototype devices and products.
    • Perform various electrical tests on products.
    • Assist in handling service and support calls from customers for electrical and controls systems.
    • Perform service work including inspections, installations and start-ups on an occasional basis, as a backup to the service team.
    • Work with the Service team to troubleshoot and commission machines; Troubleshoot and improve upon current and pre-production products.
    • Perform other duties as needed.

    • The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
    • Individual will be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to twenty (25) pounds frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds constantly.
    • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.

    A comprehensive benefit package is available beginning the first of the month following month of employment. 401k participation is the first of the month following three months of service. 401k vesting is immediate. 

     

    WORK DAYS AND SHIFTS:

    Position works Monday – Friday, daylight hours, and additional time as needed to complete work.

    THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE WITH ATTENDANCE IN THE CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP OFFICE REQUIRED AT LEAST 3 DAYS PER WEEK.

     

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSE(S) REQUIRED:

    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • May be required to participate in safety trainings and/or certifications provided by the Company or customers.
    • Valid driver’s license, as employee will be required to travel to client sites as needed.

    EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIRED:

    • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience. Prefer 3 to 5 years.
    • Proficiency in Allen-Bradley Suite.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoDesk Suite.
    • Working knowledge of Infor CSI and Arena (PLM) manufacturing software.
    • Working knowledge of Vault, AutomationDirect, and similar software is a plus.
    • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, UL508a.
    • Experience with networking and common industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP and PROFINET).
    • Ability to read and create electrical schematics using NFPA and IEC standards.
    • Board level circuit design and microcontroller programming (FPGA, PIC, etc.) a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Experience in the manufacturing field is a plus.
