Location: San Diego, California (On-site) Compensation: $130,000 – $149,000 annually
About the Role: This role is for a licensed Mechanical Professional Engineer who wants to lead complex HVAC projects, influence technical standards, and operate at a high level within a growing MEP firm.
You will not be a production-only engineer. You will be trusted with design authority, QA/QC accountability, and client-facing leadership.

What You’ll Do:
Lead HVAC system design for commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects
Oversee QA/QC across multiple projects to reduce errors and liability
Perform and review heating/cooling load calculations and system sizing
Design and review ductwork, piping, and hydronic systems
Support project managers with technical forecasting and risk planning
Participate in client meetings and represent the firm at a senior level
Contribute to internal standards and technical training
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):
Fully integrated into active project teams
Independently leading mechanical design scopes
Contributing to QA/QC improvements
Demonstrating reliability in deadlines and coordination
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (U.S.)
8+ years of mechanical (HVAC) design experience
Strong experience with U.S. commercial projects
Proficiency in Revit and mechanical design software
Strong understanding of mechanical codes and California requirements
Experience performing HVAC load calculations and system design
Ability to lead coordination and communicate with clients
