Position Overview:
As a Labor & Delivery Surgical Technician, you will be an integral part of our maternity and surgical team, providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and ensuring the safe and successful delivery of newborns. You will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals and will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about women's health and childbirth and is ready to contribute to a supportive and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Assistance: Assist obstetricians and surgeons during labor and delivery procedures, including Cesarean sections and other surgical interventions.
- Preparation and Setup: Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and medical equipment, ensuring that everything is sterile and ready for use.
- Patient Care: Provide emotional support and reassurance to expectant mothers undergoing surgical procedures while maintaining patient safety and dignity.
- Instrument Sterilization: Properly handle, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments following established protocols and guidelines.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of surgical procedures and patient information, adhering to confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist during obstetric emergencies, working closely with the medical team to ensure swift and effective responses.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery to laboring mothers and newborns.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest surgical techniques, equipment, and best practices in Labor & Delivery.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program and certification as a Surgical Technician.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Labor & Delivery Surgical Technician is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of surgical procedures and protocols, particularly in Labor & Delivery.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
- Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle high-stress situations effectively.
