    MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION

    Location: Outpatient Treatment Center Department: Medical Reports To: FNP Compensation: $18-21 per hour or Salary/Exempt (Depending on Experience) Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in our healthcare team, providing comprehensive support to physicians, advanced practice providers, and both clinical and non-clinical staff. This position requires specialized expertise in delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    · SUD Clinical Care

    · Record and monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and required measurements

    · Conduct medication reconciliation under FNP supervision

    · Perform office-based testing and treatments, including injections

    · Process urinalysis samples and ensure proper lab documentation in KIPU EMR

    · Lead medical-focused psychoeducational groups

    · Assist with patient flow and clinical processes

    · Administrative Tasks

    · Maintain accurate and complete medical records

    · Process pre-certifications, referrals, and authorizations

    · Manage prescription coordination with partner pharmacies

    · Schedule and coordinate patient appointments

    · Support billing documentation requirements

    · Assist Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) with clinic tasks as directed

    · Ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards

    · Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information

    · Follow ADHS requirements

    · Implement proper sterilization and OSHA procedures

    · Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment

    · Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials

    · Quality & Communication

    · Foster effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

    · Maintain organized, clean, and functional clinical environments

    · Manage inventory of medications, supplies, and equipment

    · Coordinate patient care across departments

    · Support efficient patient flow through clinical processes

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    · Education & Certification

    · Medical Assisting degree from an accredited institution

    · High school diploma or equivalent

    · Medical Assistant certification (preferred)

    · Current BLS/CPR certification

    · Experience

    · Knowledge of addiction medicine

    · Behavioral health experience

    · Proficiency with EMR systems

    · Understanding of insurance and managed care operations
