    Job Description

    MELE Associates, Inc. (MELE) maintains a contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Safety, Infrastructure, and Operations (NA-50). NA-50 works to maintain, operate, and modernize NNSA infrastructure in a safe, secure, and cost-effective manner to enable program results. MELE requires an exceptional candidate to fill a Data Analyst position to support the Office of Infrastructure Planning & Analysis (NA-521). This full-time position will be stationed at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Headquarters building.

     

    The Data Analyst position requires a background in project or program management, financial management, business operations, quality analysis/assurance, and/or data analytics, to manage infrastructure data and databases. Essential functions include:

    • Conduct program data analysis, interpret data, and analyze data results for NA-521 leadership and staff, relying on data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
    • Identify and analyze trends in complex data sets using advanced excel skills
    • Support analyses for NA-521 programs and key deliverables
    • Conduct data quality reviews
    • Support the development of reports and briefings drawing on data analysis
    • All other duties as assigned

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • College graduate Bachelor’s degree.
    • At least 2 years’ data analysis experience
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, synthesize, and interpret data and present findings
    • Database management experience
    • Experience working with large data sets
    • Experience with working Quality Assurance products
    • Strong communication skills
    • Knowledge of federal government programs
    • Adaptable and willing to work in a fast paced, hard-working office
    • Excellent team player
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q security clearance

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Prior experience working federal government programs
    • Experience with conducting data analysis of facilities and infrastructure
    • Familiarity with NNSA M&O model
    • Experience briefing technical subjects to non-technical audiences
    • Knowledge and Experience with BUILDER software
    • Experience using SharePoint
    • Knowledge and experience with other data analysis software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
    • Master’s degree in Public Policy, Business, Program Management, Project Management, or related field

     

    ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

    • Provide two references
    • Provide example of work product (e.g., Data sets, analytics report, quality assurance report) with information on what improvements were made as a result of the work
