  • Responsibilities

    S Y Lee Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced MEP Mechanical and/or Plumbing Designer to support the design and production of construction documents for commercial, educational, municipal, healthcare, private, and public-sector projects.

    The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical and/or plumbing building systems, is proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit, and can produce accurate, well-coordinated construction documents while working closely with our engineering and project management teams.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare mechanical and/or plumbing construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.

    Develop plans, details, schedules, equipment layouts, and related construction documents.

    Assist with mechanical and/or plumbing system design under the direction of engineers and project managers.

    Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, and other design disciplines.

    Incorporate engineering markups, plan-check comments, and client comments into construction documents.

    Review drawings for accuracy, coordination, and completeness.

    Maintain company drafting/BIM standards and meet project schedules and deadlines.

    Qualifications

    3+ years of MEP drafting/design experience preferred.

    Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit required.

    Experience with mechanical and/or plumbing building systems preferred.

    Experience preparing construction documents for commercial, institutional, or similar building projects preferred.

    Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

    Ability to understand and implement engineering markups and design direction.

    Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.

    Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineers, project managers, and other team members.

    Preferred Experience

    HVAC system layouts, ductwork, piping, and equipment.

    Plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, and natural gas.

    MEP coordination with architectural and other engineering disciplines.

    Experience with California building projects and applicable codes is a plus.
