MEP Coordinator - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 80k/year - Birmingham, AL

• Our client is seeking an MEP Coordinator to join their dynamic team focused on the design and delivery of off-site fabricated buildings in the healthcare industry. The MEP Coordinator is instrumental in transforming schematic design concepts into fully coordinated, fabrication-ready 3D models by integrating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), and low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit, collaborative by nature, and motivated to help redefine how buildings are designed and manufactured using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate detailed 3D models (LOD 400+) of MEP/FP systems using Revit and related BIM tools and plugins.
  
• Translate schematic concepts into modular component assemblies within the context of complete building systems.
  
• Optimize system layouts to enhance constructability, performance, and cost-efficiency using DFMA and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to integrate equipment and products accurately into the model.
  
• Conduct and participate in clash detection and resolution workflows, coordinating across disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, and manufacturing).
  
• Work closely with BIM/VDC managers to refine modeling standards, templates, and system libraries.
  
• Assist in the generation of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and quantity take-offs directly from the BIM model.
  
• Support the creation of permit, regulatory, manufacturing, and installation drawing sets based on coordinated design models.
  
• Develop subject matter expertise in MEP systems while building broader interdisciplinary knowledge across other building systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience in a specialty MEP trade
  
• Strong understanding of building MEP systems and coordination best practices
  
• Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP; familiarity with Autodesk CADMEP Fab Parts is a plus
  
• Passion for innovation and interest in offsite construction, modular design, and digital fabrication

Compensation:

• Base salary up to 80k/year
